Dr. Jay Jayachandran, DDS, FAGD, affectionately known as “Dr. Jay” by patients and her team, is deeply committed to delivering top-tier dentistry in your neighborhood. As the owner of the practice, she leads Serene Dentistry with the intent of creating an environment where patients feel at ease and valued.
Dr. Jay’s Background
Dr. Jay graduated with the highest honors from a prestigious university in India in October 2000, earning the distinction of “summa cum laude.” Following this achievement, she completed a comprehensive one-year residency program, rotating through all fields of dentistry. This immersive experience provided her with a well-rounded understanding of the diverse aspects of dental practice.
After her wedding, she embarked on a new chapter, following her husband to Dallas, Texas, where his career led them. Enchanted by the Lone Star State, she made the heartfelt decision to plant roots in Texas permanently. Pursuing her passion for dentistry, she pursued her DDS program at the University of Texas, San Antonio, where she graduated with honors, earning the distinction of ‘magna cum laude’.
After completing her education, Dr. Jay sought opportunities to contribute her skills to various dental practices in the vibrant DFW area. During this time, she cultivated a deep-seated commitment to delivering exceptional service and comprehensive care to her patients. Motivated by her passion for creating an enjoyable dental experience, Dr. Jayachandran seized the opportunity to take over Serene Dentistry.
Dr. Jay is of the firm belief that learning should never stop, and with that philosophy in mind, she continues to exceed the minimum number of continuing education credits required by the Texas State Dental Board. In 2018, Dr. Jay was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry. Earning a Fellowship takes dedication to dental continuing education (CE) beyond graduation. Only about 6 percent of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada are AGD Fellows. To become an AGD Fellow, a dentist must:
- Complete over 500 credit hours of CE.
- Earn 350 of those 500 credits in live courses.
- Pass an exam equal in difficulty to board certification exams.
Under Dr. Jay’s leadership, Serene Dentistry maintains an unwavering commitment to excellence, continuously advancing in cosmetic and comprehensive dentistry to set new standards and exceed expectations. Our ethos mirrors Dr. Jay’s belief in treating each patient like family, ensuring that personalized attention and exceptional care are the cornerstones of our practice.
Dr. Jay and her husband have an 11-year-old daughter, who keeps them busy with her activities. Dr. Jay has finally conceded that being a “volleyball mom” is her second job. She also enjoys gardening and reading.
